Presents an introduction into safe work systems and practices in UNSW laboratories and workshops. It is designed to establish an awareness of workplace safety requirements including good housekeeping, ergonomics, manual handling and working safely with chemicals, plant and equipment.

This UNSW corporate due diligence program works directly with Faculties and Schools to ensure relevant staff are informed of their legal responsibilities with regards to compliance with environmental law and regulations.
Faculties, Schools and relevant staff remain directly accountable for legal compliance. The role of the Green Lab Program is to provide support and information to assist the achievement of compliance with environmental law and regulations.
This program is designed to enable UNSW Faculties and Schools to provide online training on environmental law obligations and environmental best practice for laboratory managers, staff and researchers.

A RISK ASSESSMENT MUST BE CARRIED OUT and submitted for any activity / experiment associated with the School. Please submit to Sandra Twomey, School Office, room 310, level 3.
YOU MUST UPDATE AND RESUBMIT YOUR RISK ASSESSMENT if you change your activity, experimental procedure, materials or equipment in any way.
FOR LONGER TERM PROJECTS OF MORE THAN 1 YEAR your risk assessment must be updated and resubmitted every 12 months.
