(B) FOOD4450 Adv. Food Processing (B) CEIC8330 Process Engineering in the Petroleum Industry

Students undertaking the advance thesis option need permission from their supervisor and will replace CEIC4003 and 6 units of professional electives (Depth) with CEIC4006 Advance thesis (12 Units)

* Note that POLY3000 is a pre-requisite for CEIC6004.
**Note that it is recommended that students complete this course before taking CEIC4001 in their 4th year.
***Note pre requisite CEIC3005 therefore it is recommended to take it in 4th year.

Electives Requirements for Chemical Engineering Programs (3040, 3042, 3048)

Current program rule changes require that students in Program 3040 take 1 breadth (B) and 2 depth (D) electives, and 3042 and 3048 take 2 depth (D) electives as part of their degree.

Mark scaling for Professional Electives

To ensure that students taking more difficult elective courses are not disadvantaged, the final marks in each Professional Elective will be adjusted by a scaling factor. The scaling procedure will be such that the average final mark of each elective class is proportional to the average WAM to date of the students in that class, i.e. the average mark to average WAM ratio is the same for all professional elective classes in a given session. Note that a student's individual WAM will have no effect on his/her mark, apart from its small influence on the class's average WAM.
