Industrial Training

All chemical engineering and industrial chemistry students are required to undertake 60 days of industrial training as part of their program.

This gives students the opportunity to experience their chosen industry first-hand, apply what they have learnt in their program to a real-world environment and gain valuable experience for their graduate resume.  It is also an opportunity to establish a professional network.

Students are also given the option to combine study with their industrial placement in their 4th year.

Past Industrial Training placements have included:

- BHP Billiton

- James Hardie Industries

- Mars Australia PTY LTD

- Unilever Australia Limited

- Veolia Water Australia

- Tooheys NSW

Food Science Field Trip

All food science students undertake a 10-day field trip as part of their program. This trip is an enriching experience that gives students a rare opportunity to see how the food industry really works.  During this trip you will visit many of the major players in the Australian food industry and experience how the theory you learn in class is applied in the real world.
