The School of Chemical Engineering reflects the benefits of several developments since its origins as a foundation School 60 years ago. It combines disciplines that have been not only important over those past decades, but which remain globally crucial into the future. Our leading edge research spans the strategic areas of safe and abundant food, to tailored nano-materials and macromolecules, to new catalysts and to creative solutions for potable water. Each of these areas has evolved over the decades from past pioneers and are being taken even further forward by our current research teams. Equally important is the training of the next generation of graduates, who we value as tomorrow’s leaders, not only in engineering and applied science, but in areas of commercial and society at large.
